Locums Radiologist – Elk Grove Village, Illinois
Availability
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- Coverage Type: Scheduled only; no call
- Shifts Available: Day, Swing, Night, Weekend
- Night Shift Example:
- 5 nights per week
- 8-hour shifts
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (flexible)
- Block Scheduling: Not available
- Facility Type: Imaging Center
- Modalities: Radiology, Ultrasound, Sonography, X-Ray
- On-Site Candidates: Considered
- Diagnostic Radiology Volume:
- Approximately 34 diagnostic reads per day
- Primarily plain film
- Efficiency goal: 70–80 reads per 8-hour shift
- Required Skills:
- Ability to read CTP stroke protocol
- MRI Abdomen required for emergent OB cases
- Preferred but Not Required:
- MRI Joint for independent overnight reading
- Additional Clinical Notes:
- Cardiac ultrasound studies are read by cardiologists
- On-site providers may perform light interventional radiology
- Stroke alerts: 20 minutes
- ED STAT: 30–60 minutes
- Inpatient STAT: 60 minutes
- Critical results: communicated within 60 minutes
- Inpatient final read: < 4 hours
- Outpatient final read: < 6 hours
- PACS: GE
- Stroke protocol experience is a key qualification
- MRI competency is important for overnight and emergent coverage
- No-call schedule may appeal to candidates seeking predictable shifts
