Job description
A hospital-based radiology group is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to provide weekend onsite coverage. This role focuses primarily on adult imaging with occasional pediatric overflow from the emergency department. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a high-volume environment and able to independently manage all studies that present during their shift.
Schedule
- Weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday)
- Day shifts: 10 hours per day
- Minimum commitment of one weekend per month (additional shifts available)
- No call responsibilities
Clinical Scope
- Mix of CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain film interpretation
- Case mix weighted toward CT and general diagnostic imaging
- No nuclear medicine, cardiac, or breast imaging
- Preference for body imaging experience
- Primarily adult and geriatric patients, with limited pediatric ED cases
Work Environment
- Busy, fast-paced weekend workflow
- Onsite support staff
- EMR: Epic
- Collaborative department with overlapping coverage during portions of the day
Requirements
- Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist
- Active, unrestricted California medical license
- DEA required
- BLS or ACLS certification
- Minimum 1+ year post-training experience
