Are you a skilled radiologist seeking a flexible, impactful opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Radiology Physician with Mammography privileges to provide exceptional outpatient imaging services at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. This vital role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of care while offering a flexible schedule every other month. Make a difference in a supportive environment where your expertise ensures accurate diagnostics and patient care excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret a wide range of radiological studies, including mammograms, PET scans, CTs, MRIs, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
- Perform breast biopsies and mammography procedures in accordance with MQSA standards.
- Support the outpatient clinic with accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
- Collaborate with radiology technologists and support staff to deliver seamless patient care.
- Maintain MQSA qualification through interpretation of 960 mammography studies every 24 months.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Radiology.
- Valid diagnostic mammography (mammography and biopsy) privileges.
- Proficiency in reading multiple imaging modalities, including mammography, PET, CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound.
- Excellent interpretive skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain MQSA standards for mammography quality.
- Strong communication skills for documenting and reporting findings.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience reading PET scans, additional advanced imaging modalities.
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system.
- Previous outpatient radiology experience.
- Ability to perform basic interventional procedures such as biopsies and drain placements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state medical license.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiology experience, preferred in outpatient settings.
- MQSA certification current or able to be maintained throughout the assignment.
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing with hospital and foundation privileges within 90-120 days.
- No travel required; local candidates preferred.
- Ability to work one week every other month, starting January, with shifts Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Must be able to interpret studies independently and collaborate with support staff.
- Compensation includes an hourly rate of $0.00 (please inquire for details). Daily orientation and holiday pay included.
