This position offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the chance to work in a collaborative outpatient setting. Play a vital role in interpreting a variety of imaging studies, including mammograms and breast biopsies, while maintaining high-quality standards in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret diagnostic studies across all modalities, including mammography, PET scans, CTs, MRIs, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
- Perform breast biopsies, including stereotactic procedures.
- Review and interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms, ensuring adherence to MQSA standards.
- Support emergency department and inpatient imaging needs, providing timely and accurate reads.
- Collaborate with radiology techs and support staff utilizing Cerner EMR system.
- Maintain licensure and MQSA certification requirements throughout the assignment.
Required Skills:
- Board certification or eligibility in Radiology.
- Certification and current competence in mammography and breast biopsies.
- Strong proficiency with Cerner EMR and voice recognition systems.
- Ability to read and interpret a broad range of studies, including mammography, PET, CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience reading PET scans.
- Proficiency or familiarity with additional procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, drains, or nephrostomy tubes.
- Prior experience working in outpatient or hospital-based radiology settings.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with a valid California medical license.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiology experience, particularly in outpatient clinical settings.
- MQSA certification for mammography.
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing process time estimated at 90-120 days.
- Availability to start January 2025, working one week every other month for up to 9 months.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no on-call requirements.
- Travel accommodations as needed, with preferred lodging arrangements.
