Overview:
Join our esteemed radiology team as a Locum Physician specializing in Diagnostic Radiology with Mammography and biopsy privileges. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality imaging interpretations, supporting breast biopsies, and contributing to patient care at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Required Skills:
- Board-certified or eligible in Radiology
- Valid state medical license in California
- Certification and ongoing qualification in Mammography, including MQSA Standards (interpreting 960 mammography studies every 24 months)
- Proficiency in reading mammograms, PET scans, CTs, MRIs, X-rays, ultrasounds, and performing breast biopsies
- Experience with Cerner EMR system
- Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging modalities and procedures
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Teleradiology platforms like Merge or similar systems
- Ability to interpret PET scans
- Skills in performing basic procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, drains, and nephrostomy tubes
- Familiarity with voice recognition systems like Dragon dictation
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Minimum of 2 years of radiology experience, including mammography and breast biopsy procedures
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinical environments
- Credentialing experience with hospitals and foundations (preferred timeframe 90-120 days)
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (expected 90-120 days)
- No travel required; local candidates preferred
- Ability to start by December 8, 2025, with work scheduled every other month for a duration of 6-9 months
- Full compliance with MQSA standards throughout the assignment
- No call responsibilities
- Eligible for hospital and foundation privileges
