JOB OVERVIEW

  • Coverage Type: Clinical Only
  • Coverage Period: ASAP Ongoing (8-month duration)
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: On-site daytime 8a5p; Remote evening 4p1a (varied start times); Remote weekends/holidays 10a12a (flexible subsets) COVERAGE DATES
  • Minimum 5 on-site weekday shifts per month (must include Fridays)
  • Minimum 5 remote evening shifts per month
  • Minimum 3 remote weekend/holiday shifts per month
  • Flexible scheduling with preference for candidates covering weekends

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adult and General Radiology population
  • Patient Volume/Census: 6090 wRVUs/day
  • Case Mix: Diagnostic Radiology with CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine; subspecialty reads as applicable

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • EMR System: PACs (Change Healthcare), Dictation via Nuance Powerscribe One
  • Specialty Backup Available: Locum works alongside radiology team
  • Support Staff: Team-based environment
  • Reason for Coverage: High volume exceeding available FTEs

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes
  • Credentialing Timeline: 1 month
  • Vaccination

Requirements: PPD, Varicella, MMR

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not typically provided; local candidates preferred (LA or Orange Counties)
  • Lodging: Candidates must reside locally to minimize travel/lodging costs
  • Remote candidates preferred from PST or Hawaii time zones REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • GI Fluoro studies (if on-site)
  • Lumbar puncture (if on-site)
  • Diagnostic reads for CT, MRI, X-ray, US, NM
  • No procedures required for teleradiology

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active California medical license and CA RHL required
  • Board: Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
  • DEA: Not specified
  • Certifications: CA X-ray operator and supervisor permit required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty with no employment gaps >0.5 year
  • Subspecialty Training: Fellowship training in Neuroradiology, MSK, Chest, Body/Abdomen, or Interventional Radiology preferred
  • Other Qualifications: Experience in brain and spine MRI, stroke protocol CT/CTA/CTP required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform diagnostic radiology reads across multiple modalities (CT, MRI, US, NM, X-ray)
  • Cover on-site daytime shifts, remote evening shifts, and remote weekend/holiday shifts as scheduled
  • Maintain productivity standards (710 wRVUs/hour depending on shift)
  • Collaborate with radiology team members to manage high imaging volumes
  • Document reports via Nuance Powerscribe One and PACs system
