- Clinical Responsibilities across all imaging modalities (General Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Neuroradiology)
Licensing & Credentialing Requirements
- Providers must hold a valid, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.
- Board Certification in Radiology (ABR/AOBR) required.
- Credentialing will be completed through VA’s VetPro system and background checks are required.
- Provider must maintain all required state and federal DEA registration for any telehealth services involving medications.
- Credentialing and privileging for VA telehealth may include reciprocity; detailed facility onboarding requirements provided to finalists.
Technology & Workflow
- Reads provided via secure, VA-approved diagnostic workstations and PACS platforms.
- All technical hardware (workstations, firewalls, servers) provided by VISN—the provider supplies imaging displays and support for periodic quality evaluation.
- Radiologists use either voice recognition systems or secure transcription services for reporting.
- Training for all relevant software and dictation platforms will be provided by VA/VISN.
Scheduling & Flexibility
- Shifts: Daytime weekday hours (8:00 am–4:30 pm) plus “WHEN” after-hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
- Ability to work remotely (home or dedicated remote office) with flexibility in shift selection.
- May request same-day daytime coverage if an in-house radiologist is unavailable.
- Coverage requests may be made for planned leave, short notice, and urgent STAT reads.
