Join us as an Interventional Radiologist at the Syracuse VA Medical Center located in Syracuse, NY. *1099 and W-2 options available, inquire for more details. Providers will cover the range of Interventional Radiology Physician Services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall meet or exceed the quality of nationally recognized national standards as established by the American College of Radiologists Guidelines.
Period of Performance: 12-month base period 11/1/2026-10/31/2027 w/ 4 additional 12-month renewal options available.
Job Responsibilities
o Angiography
o Balloon Angioplasty/stent placement
o Biliary intervention
o Biopsies (CT guided and Ultrasound guided) including Lung, Liver, Renal, Lymph Node, Thyroid, Parotid, Bone, Bone Marrow, etc.
o Central line insertion/assessment
o Chemoembolization
o Dialysis access and related interventions
o Drain/tube insertions and exchanges including Biliary, Nephrostomy, Chest, NU stent, Cholecystostomy, Abscess, Suprapubic, etc.
o Embolization
o Joint injections
o IVC filters
o Lumbar puncture
o Myelograms
o Paracentesis
o Radiologically inserted gastrostomy
o Thoracentesis
o Vertebroplasty
• Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for interventional radiologic procedures.
• Being available for off-hours telephonic consultation
Qualifications
• Board Certification. All contractor’s physician(s) shall be Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology (http://www.theabr.org/).
• Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BLS or ACLS, DEA and NPI required.
• Experience. Must be capable of demonstrating technical proficiency.
• English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Subject to background/security investigation.
• Must pass TB test.
• Complete an online onboarding process.
• Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
