Position Details:
Patient Population: Acute ischemic stroke patients
Setting: Hospital-based, stroke-focused care
Responsibilities: Provide 24-hour thrombectomy call coverage, perform emergent thrombectomy procedures, respond to stroke alerts and urgent callback cases, collaborate with Neurology and Interventional Radiology teams, perform image-guided vascular procedures, manage inpatient neurovascular cases, and ensure timely stroke intervention care.
Required Procedures: Mechanical thrombectomy, image-guided vascular interventions, neurovascular emergency procedures
EMR System: EPIC
Support Staff: Interventional Radiology team
Days Per Month: 14 shifts per month
On-Call/Weekends: 24-hour thrombectomy call coverage with pager (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM); weekends included in coverage schedule
Submission Requirements:
- Fellowship Trained in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurology (INR)
- Must be able to perform thrombectomies independently
- Active Iowa License or active IMLC with LOQ proof at the time of Name Clear
- Self-Query NPDB Report completed within 30 days of submission
