🏥 Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiology Physician for a locums opportunity at a hospital-based IR department. The role involves performing advanced interventional procedures with a collaborative support team in a state-of-the-art environment.
🔹 Shift: Day, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday
🔹 Schedule: 2 weeks per month, onsite, no call
🔹 Contract Length: Through August 2026
🔹 Patient Volume: 8–15 procedures per day
🔹 EMR: Epic
🔹 Hospital Beds: 274
👶🧓 Patient Population: Infants through geriatrics
🛠️ Special Procedures Include:
- Kyphoplasty (Kypho)
- Ablations
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) interventions
- Gastrointestinal arterial embolizations (GAE)
- Other advanced interventional procedures
👥 Support Staff: Nurses, Techs, NP, PA
🏥 Department: 2 procedure rooms with recovery space
Job Responsibilities
Perform advanced interventional radiology procedures such as kyphoplasty, ablations, PAD interventions, and GAE
Provide care for patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics
Collaborate with nurses, techs, NPs, and PAs to ensure safe and efficient procedures
Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentation
Monitor patients in procedure and recovery areas, ensuring safety and high-quality care
Maintain adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
Participate in credentialing and privileging processes as required by the hospital
Qualifications
Board Certified in Interventional Radiology
Active Pennsylvania Medical License
DEA Registration required
IR Fellowship completed
Several years of experience in interventional radiology procedures
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Ability to manage complex cases across all age groups safely and efficiently
Working Hours
Day shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Schedule: 2 weeks per month, onsite
No call responsibilities
Focused procedural time in two dedicated IR procedure rooms with full support staff
Skills
Expertise in advanced interventional procedures (kyphoplasty, ablations, PAD interventions, GAE)
Ability to manage complex cases across all age groups
Proficiency in Epic EMR documentation
Strong clinical decision-making in procedural and high-acuity settings
Effective teamwork and communication with nurses, techs, NPs, and PAs
Excellent time management and procedural efficiency skills
Ability to maintain patient safety and quality standards throughout procedures
