Interventional Radiologist (MD/DO) – Locums - Bloomington IL

Assignment Overview

• Specialty: Interventional Radiology (MD/DO)

• Start Date: July 1, 2026

• Estimated Shifts: ~20 shifts per month

• Schedule: Monday – Friday (consecutive shifts preferred)

• Call: None

• Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient

• EMR: EPIC

Practice Environment

• Provider will work independently (solo coverage)

• Collaborative relationships with referring physicians and hospital teams

• Annual IR procedural census: approximately 1,800 – 2,000 cases

Volume Breakdown

• Inpatient: ~1,800 – 2,000 procedures annually

• Outpatient: ~1,260 – 1,400 procedures annually

Clinical Responsibilities

The Interventional Radiologist will perform a wide range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures supporting both inpatient and outpatient services.

The department manages a diverse procedural mix including biopsies, drainage procedures, vascular access, GI, GU, and oncology-related interventions.

• CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies

  • Lung

  • Thyroid

  • Renal

  • Liver

  • Bone

  • Lymph node

  • Bone marrow

• Drain placements and management

  • Abscess drains

  • Chest tubes

  • Drain exchanges

• Biliary procedures

• GI and GU procedures

• Vascular procedures and access

• Hemodialysis access procedures

• Oncology-related interventional procedures

Requirements

• Board Certified Interventional Radiology

• Active Illinois License required

• DEA

• CSR

• ACLS

• Minimum 1 year of experience

• Clean background required

• IMLC candidates will not be accepted
