We are seeking a Locum Interventional Radiology Physician for hospital-based coverage in Grass Valley, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled IR physician to work in an acute care setting with a balanced mix of diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. Ongoing coverage is available with a predictable
Job Responsibilities
• Provide hospital-based interventional radiology coverage
• Interpret Stroke CTs, ED, ICU, and inpatient imaging studies
• Perform IR procedures including biopsies, drain placements, and centesis
• Support outpatient imaging needs (contrast CT, MRI, breast biopsies as needed)
• Collaborate with radiology nurses, technologists, and support teams
• Document using Cerner EMR
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Radiology (required)
• Fellowship or residency training in Interventional Radiology
• Active California medical license
• CA Fluoroscopy permit (required at submission)
• BLS and DEA certification
• Recent NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days)
• Strong acute care and procedural skill set
Working Hours
• Day shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekend and on-call responsibilities included
• Initial dates: late April and May, with ongoing coverage available
Skills
• Expertise in non-complex IR procedures
• Acute care imaging proficiency (Stroke CTs, ED & ICU imaging)
• Strong procedural and diagnostic decision-making
• Ability to manage steady daily imaging volumes
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
