🏥 Practice Setting

General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified)
-
EMR: Cerner
-
Strong onsite Radiology nurses and technologists
-
Large Sacramento-based radiology group provides overflow and after-hours reads
-
Coverage needed due to recent radiologist resignation
🩺 Scope of Work
Hospital-based coverage including:

Stroke CTs and acute care imaging (ED & ICU studies)
-
Interventional Radiology procedures
-
Potential outpatient building coverage (contrasted CT/MRI presence + breast biopsies)
Estimated Daily Volume:
-
~50 studies/day
-
4–6 IR procedures/day (primarily non-complex, percutaneous)
Daily Study Breakdown:
-
CT: 12–15
-
X-ray: 15–20
-
Ultrasound: 8–12
Required Procedural Expertise:

Lumbar punctures
-
Barium studies
-
Centesis exams with drain placements
-
CT/US-guided biopsies
-
Thoracentesis
-
Paracentesis
-
Nephrostomy tubes
-
Intra-abdominal abscess drainage
-
Chest tubes
-
Suprapubic catheters
-
Biopsies (thyroid, lung, and others)
This role requires strong procedural skills and confidence in acute care imaging.
