Job description Interventional Radiologist | Full-Spectrum Hospital-Based IR in a Growing Southeast Market

This is a hospital based Interventional Radiology opportunity within a growing, not for profit health system in the Southeast. The organization is investing in a modern IR service line and recruiting a fellowship trained Interventional Radiologist to join a stable, employed group that serves multiple hospitals in the region. The role is ideal for a physician who wants to practice full spectrum IR, benefit from strong institutional support, and help shape a program.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Full time, hospital-based Interventional Radiology with a broad referral base and growing procedural volumes.
  • Step into a setting with experienced nurses, technologists, and APPs who are viewed as a core strength of the service.
  • Separate diagnostic radiology coverage, with the option for limited diagnostic work if desired, with credit for those studies.
  • Diverse, consultative case mix that may include:
    • Oncologic interventions such as ablations and embolizations.
    • Dialysis access and maintenance.
    • Biliary interventions and nephrostomies.
    • Portal hypertension interventions including TIPS.
    • Uterine fibroid embolization.
    • Trauma related IR work.
    • Venous and other bread and butter IR procedures.
  • Dedicated IR call rotation with equitable distribution
  • Opportunity to partner closely with the Lead Interventional Radiologist who is responsible for overall service line development, allowing you to focus on clinical excellence while still having a voice in workflow and program evolution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of minimally invasive, image guided procedures in a hospital setting.
  • Provide pre and post procedural consults, inpatient consultative support, and appropriate follow up.
  • Collaborate with referring services including surgery, oncology, nephrology, cardiology, and hospital medicine.
  • Work closely with IR APPs and staff to optimize throughput, patient experience, communication, and access.
  • Participate as a fully engaged member of the IR team, sharing call responsibilities and supporting ongoing growth of the service line.
Ideal Candidate
  • Fellowship trained in Interventional Radiology, board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology or IR DR.
  • Comfortable with a broad hospital based case mix and interested in both complex and bread and butter IR.
  • Open to mentorship and collaboration with a Lead IR, administrative partners, and APPs in a program that is actively evolving.
  • Values teamwork, clear communication, and a low drama, solutions oriented culture.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive guaranteed base salary with total compensation potential in the high six figures when combining salary guarantee and incentives.
  • Incentive opportunities tied to quality, citizenship, and service line goals.
  • Professional fee reimbursement, CME support, and comprehensive benefits including health, malpractice, retirement, and paid time off, consistent with other employed physicians in the system.
  • Relocation assistance and sign on incentives available within health system policy.
Community and Lifestyle
  • Live in a vibrant, fast growing lakefront community in the Southeast within an easy drive of metropolitan Atlanta and its international airport.
  • Enjoy year round outdoor recreation on one of the region’s premier recreational lakes, with opportunities for boating, paddle boarding, fishing, and lakeside living.
  • Take advantage of nearby foothills and mountain trails for hiking, cycling, and weekend getaways, along with golf, youth sports, and other family friendly activities.
  • Benefit from a strong sense of community, with engaged neighborhoods, local festivals, concerts, and civic and faith based organizations that make it easy to plug in.
  • Choose from a wide range of housing options, including lakefront and golf course communities l, historic in town neighborhoods, and traditional suburban settings, with a cost of living that remains attractive compared to many other Atlanta area suburbs.
  • Access respected public and private schools, as well as nearby colleges and universities that contribute to the area’s energy, workforce, and cultural offerings.
