Locums Interventional Radiologist – Grass Valley, California

Assignment Dates / Availability:

  • April 27 – May 1, 2026
  • May 25 – 29, 2026
  • Ongoing coverage potential
  • Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Schedule / Call Requirements:

  • Hospital coverage and outpatient building coverage
  • No specific mention of call, coverage aligns with scheduled shifts

Practice Setting:

  • General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation)
  • Outpatient building coverage for contrasted CTs, MRIs, and breast biopsies
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Support Staff: Radiology nurses, techs; large Radiology group for overflow and after-hours reads

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Board-certified or Board-eligible in Radiology (Required)
  • California Medical License (Required)
  • Residency/Fellowship completed (Required)
  • BLS and DEA certification (Required during credentialing)
  • CA Fluoroscopy certification (Required at submission)

Procedures / Duties:

  • Hospital: Stroke CTs, general IR coverage, lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams with drains, CT/US biopsies preferred
  • Interventional Radiology Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest tubes, Suprapubic catheters
  • Biopsies: Thyroid, Lung, Other
  • Expected Daily Volume: ~50 studies/day + 4–6 procedures/day
    • CTs: 12–15
    • X-rays: 15–20
    • Ultrasounds: 8–12
    • IR Procedures: 4–6 (mostly percutaneous, some tunneled procedures)

Reason for Coverage:

  • Resignation of previous Radiologist

Additional Notes:

  • Referral fees available for recommended candidates
  • Ideal candidate can handle both hospital and outpatient responsibilities
