Interventional Radiology Locums Job in California | Scheduled Clinic Hours | Beginning February 23 – Ongoing | Assignment #113337
Coverage Details
-- February 23 – February 24
-- Ongoing
Shift Details
-- 8 AM – 4:30 PM
-- No call
-- May also provide outpatient coverage for contrasted CTs, MRIs, and breast biopsies
Requirements
-- Board certified or board eligible
-- California license (no other states accepted)
-- BLS
-- DEA
-- California fluoroscopy license
-- Completed residency
-- Clean malpractice history preferred
Required Procedures / Skills
-- Lumbar punctures
-- Barium studies
-- Centesis exams with drain placements
-- CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies
-- IR procedures: thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tubes, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters
-- Biopsies: thyroid, lung, other
Assignment Details
-- Expected daily volume: ~50 studies/day + 4–6 procedures/day
-- CTs: 12–15/day
-- X-rays: 15–20/day
-- Ultrasounds: 8–12/day
-- ED volume: 85–90 patients/day
-- Average inpatient/observation census: ~50 (includes ICU and OB)
-- IR workload is mostly non-complex and percutaneous
-- Support staff includes diagnostic imaging nurses and techs; large local radiology group assists with overflow and after-hours reads
-- Setting: general acute care hospital (stroke certified; not chest pain center accredited; no trauma designation)
-- EMR: Cerner
