Aya Locums has an immediate opening for an Interventional Radiologist in Ohio! This full-time, weekday role offers a dynamic mix of IR procedures and general diagnostic reads, with no call and flexible scheduling options. Join a supportive hospital team on a 6-month contract with the option to extend — IMLC accepted (LOQ required).
Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Start Date: ASAP upon credentialing
Contract Length: 6 months (option to extend)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00a–4:30p
Commitment: Minimum 1 week per month
Call Requirements: None
IMLC Accepted: Must have LOQ in hand
Job Details
Modalities:
-Required: General CT, General MRI, General X-ray, Interventional Radiology, and Fluoro coverage
-Diagnostics: Physician will read from the general worklist when not performing procedures or fluoro
Technology:
-PACS: AGFA EI
-Voice Recognition: Powerscribe 360
Case Mix & Volume
-Variable mix of inpatient, outpatient, and occasional STAT cases
-Workflow: Read “old-to-new” within each section (no cherry picking)
-Volume: Typically 50–70 cases per day (≈50% cross-sectional if not doing procedures)
-Radiologists performing procedures are expected to read between cases when feasible
Procedures
-Hands-on IR focus with diagnostic balance.
Core procedures include:
-Abscess drainages, biopsies, chest tubes, thyroid FNA
-Lumbar punctures, myelograms, paras/thoras
-Nephrostomy tube exchanges/placements, suprapubic catheters
-Lung, liver, and kidney biopsies
-PICC, port, and dialysis catheter placements
-All fluoroscopy exams
Average: ~12 IR procedures/week and ~10 fluoro cases/week
Preference: More IR with general diagnostics expected
