🩺 Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiologist to provide hospital-based coverage at a Stroke Certified acute care facility in Northern California. This opportunity is due to a recent vacancy and includes general IR procedures, CT stroke reads, and diagnostic imaging.
🕓 Schedule & Call:
- Shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with pager call coverage after hours (rarely activated)
- Call Expectation: Pager call with minimal actual calls or callbacks
🏨 Facility Details:
- Setting: General Acute Care, Stroke Certified
- Imaging Volume:
- ~50 studies/day
- 5–8 procedures/day
- Study Breakdown:
- CTs: 15–20
- X-rays: 15–20
- Ultrasounds: 10
- MRIs: 5
- IR Procedures: 5–8
🛠️ Required Skills:
- Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes
- Intra-abdominal Abscess Drainage, Chest Tubes
- Suprapubic Catheters
- CT/US Biopsies (Lung, Thyroid, Others)
- Barium Studies, Lumbar Punctures
- Stroke CT Interpretation
📋 Requirements:
- Board Certified/Eligible in Radiology – Required
- Active California License – Required
- Certifications – BLS, DEA, CA Fluoroscopy
🏥 Hospital Volume Snapshot:
- Inpatient/Obs Census: ~50 patients/day
- ED Volume: 85–90 patients/day
- Case Types: Medical, Surgical, ICU, OB
- EMR: Cerner
- Radiology Support: In-house techs & nurses, overflow support from regional group
