Thomas Jefferson University seeks a visionary and collaborative academic physician leader to serve as the next Chair of the Department of Radiology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and the Enterprise Clinical Leader for Radiology & Imaging at Jefferson Health, a clinical footprint of 14 hospitals and 19 imaging centers spanning southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. This subspecialty-trained team of over 150 academic and community radiologists is collectively responsible for approximately 1.9 million imaging studies and procedures each year.

The Department Chair will oversee 70+ clinical and research faculty members. Reporting to the Dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College, the Chair will ensure state-of-the-art clinical care is provided at 11 locations, including Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Jefferson’s flagship quaternary care hospital. The Chair will promote an environment that prioritizes outstanding patient-centered care and fosters well-being, growth, and development, assuring for the Department’s reputation for excellence and its ability to attract, recruit, and retain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive faculty body.

The Enterprise Clinical Leader for Radiology & Imaging will strategically lead the service line’s evolution, responding in innovative ways to ensure the efficient delivery of quality-focused services and equitable access for Jefferson’s communities amidst an everchanging healthcare landscape. Reporting to the President of the Jefferson Medical Group at Jefferson Health, the Clinical Leader will advance the service line towards Jefferson’s mission of becoming a fully integrated academic health system. The Enterprise Clinical Leader will further clinical integration, enhance systems and technology, and pursue industry partnerships and strategic investments in the future of care.

Requirements for this position include an MD/DO or equivalent international degree, current board certification in Radiology, and eligibility to practice in the state of Pennsylvania. Candidates must have academic accomplishments which merit appointment at the rank of associate or full professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in clinical operations, ideally gained within a large academic health system, as well as an academic career trajectory with increasing levels of administrative responsibilities, ideally culminating in serving as Chair, Vice Chair, or Division Director of a Department of Radiology.

  • A strong record of teaching, program administration, facilitating research, and cultivating academic-clinical collaborations.

  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting the growth, development, mentorship, and well-being of faculty, clinicians, and students.

  • Experience with the operational and financial management of administering a department, including prior responsibilities for budget management, strategic planning, and resource management.
