NIR needed in South Carolina
Job at a glance
Job description
Specialty: Radiology - Neurointerventional
Additional Information-
Assignment Details:
- Seeking Biweekly locum NIR coverage
- Ideal candidate would do Monday 7a – Monday 7a stretches every other week
- Locum would be expected to be onsite starting at 7am until around 4/5pm, then be on call from then until the following morning during the week.
- Saturday and Sunday will be 24 hour call only
- May be asked to do ½ day of clinic for follow ups every other stretch.
- This locum will primarily cover our inland facilities and will be stationed at MRMC. They can also expect transfers from McLeod Dillon, Clarendon, and Cheraw (our 3 rural facilities).
- Expectation of the locum will be to perform cases as needed, respond to urgent/emergent callback cases as needed while on call, answer consults, round on patients they are responsible for/have operated on, ½ day of clinic as described above, etc.
- We currently have 1 APP that works 7on/7off (however, we are recruiting for another), so there may be some overlap with the locum and the current APP, but it is not always 100% guaranteed.
- We also have a full time Navigator, and a Stroke Coordinator that is a nurse that can help Monday – Friday
- Must be comfortable working independently, as there is only 1 NIR Physician on at a time.
- EMR: EPIC
- We also have Rapid AI for convenience as well.
- We also have a Semans system biplane room
- Specific procedures: Primary- Thrombectomies for stroke cases and coiling for cerebral aneurysms.
- Adults only – pediatrics would be shipped out.
Average Current Volume:
Currently we are only running part time with one physician, and we average 100-125 stroke Alerts at Mcleod a month, 25 Angiograms, 8-15 Interventions, and 5-10 Embolization per month. As we have more consistent coverage, we are confident these volumes will increase sharply.
