Job Description

Last Update: 8/25/20

The Breast Imaging Section of the Department of Radiology at a world-class academic medical center seeks a full-time, Board-Certified/Board Eligible Breast Imager with a proven interest in clinical research. This is a terrific opportunity to join a highly-progressive department and institution, on a continually-expanding medical campus in one of the best places to live in the United States.

The Breast Section is integrated in a multidisciplinary Breast Center, which is part of an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Breast Center provides consultation services and specialized breast cancer care for a large portion of the region and the surrounding states, which means second-opinion breast imaging consultation is a significant portion of our practice.

As part of the teaching mission of the medical school, breast imaging faculty interact with and instruct medical students, diagnostic radiology residents, and a breast imaging fellow within the section, which are integral components of the position. Both the Breast Section and the Department of Radiology have been recognized as an ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence — the only Radiology department in the state to receive this prestigious honor.

Applicants must possess a MD/DO or equivalent, Medical License, ABR Certification and Fellowship Training. Competency is required in the performance of breast imaging.

The successful Breast Imager will join a full-service radiology department that is committed to a three-fold academic mission of clinical service, education and research. Offering the best in medical imaging, the Department of Radiology serves patients throughout the region and performs and interprets more than 200,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures each year. Furthermore, the medical center offers fully digital, state-of-the-art diagnostic and clinical equipment needed to perform innovative research and more.
