Overview
We are seeking a fellowship-trained Breast Imaging Radiologist for an onsite locum tenens opportunity in Grand Rapids, MI. This role supports a highly established, multidisciplinary breast care program with strong clinical infrastructure and experienced staff. The position allows physicians to focus on high-quality breast imaging interpretation and procedures within a collaborative environment.
Schedule

Coverage: Scheduled shifts, no call

Shift: Night shift

Schedule: 5 shifts per week

Hours: 8-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Practice Details
Radiologists will work either diagnostic imaging or procedures for the day (not both on the same day). Assignments may vary throughout the week.
Diagnostic Coverage
-
Average 25–30 diagnostic patients per day (mammography + ultrasound)

Screening mammography and breast MRI read between diagnostic cases as available

Low-volume contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) available but not required
Procedural Coverage

Average 10 procedures/day on standard procedure days (localizations, ultrasound biopsies, stereotactic biopsies)

MRI procedure days:
-
Morning: 4–5 procedures

Afternoon: 2–4 MRI biopsies

Clinical Environment
-
Established breast imaging program with consistent volumes
-
4–5 radiologists on-site daily with shared diagnostic and procedural coverage

Dedicated breast sonographers and experienced technologists
-
Clinical care coordinator nursing team supporting patient education, follow-up, and care continuity

Collaborative environment focused on efficient workflow and patient-centered care
Technology & Equipment

PACS: Intelerad

Dictation: Powerscribe

Mammography: Hologic units with 3D technology

MRI: 3.0T scanners with advanced imaging software

Biopsy Systems: Vacuum-assisted biopsy platforms and stereotactic biopsy technology

Localization: Magseed and ultrasound-guided localization techniques
Requirements
-
Board Certified (ABR or AOBR)
-
Current MQSA certification
-
Breast Imaging Fellowship or significant breast imaging experience

Strong experience with breast MRI and MRI-guided biopsy

Michigan license preferred (IMLC accepted)

Clean malpractice record with strong references

Excellent communication and collaborative skills
