Contract Length: 6 months
Credentialing: 60–90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8.5 hrs/day with 30-min lunch)
Coverage Needed: Full-time
Position Overview
Hospital-based breast imaging service seeking a full-time Breast Imager for ongoing weekday coverage. The department has a strong focus on Breast MRI and procedures, with excellent technical and clinical support.
Physicians can expect a steady diagnostic workflow along with regular breast procedures in a well-supported environment.
Practice Environment & Support
- Dedicated MA support for procedures
- Scheduling coordinators to manage patient flow
- 2 mammography technologists per machine
- On-site ultrasound technologists for breast US cases
- Hospital-based imaging department
- High-volume Breast MRI program
Patient Volume & Workflow
- 26–28 diagnostic cases per day
- 6–8 breast procedures per day when scheduled
- Daily volume averages 60–70 wRVUs including reads and procedures
Required Skills & Procedures
Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of breast imaging, including:
- Digital mammography
- Tomosynthesis
- Breast ultrasound
- Breast MRI (required)
- Stereotactic biopsies
- Ultrasound-guided biopsies
- MRI-guided biopsies
Requirements
- Board Certified (ABR or AOBR) — Required
- Active state license required (IMLC may be considered if applicable)
- DEA — Required
- BLS & ACLS — Required
- Breast Imaging fellowship or equivalent experience strongly preferred
