Pulmonology opening in VT Located in Newport 100m to Montreal Full-time; permanent Seeking a full-time Pulmonologist. This pulmonologist position is primarily ambulatory clinic based with in-patient critical care consults as needed. Four-day work week plus one administrative day. 12 14 patients per day. Hospital employed position. Performing scheduled Bronchoscopies is required. The pulmonary clinic is well supported by Registered Respiratory Therapists providing a wide range of diagnostic tests such as PFT, NIOX, methacholine challenge and 6MWT as well as pulmonary rehab and Asthma education. Requirements Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pulmonology Vermont State License Hospital: Located in Newport, Vermont, serves a catchment area of 28,000, spread across three counties in northern Vermont on the Canadian border. We are a fiscally sound, up-to-date facility with 25 active beds. The hospital carries the federal designation of a Critical Access Hospital. The hospital medical staff has limited sub-specialists but has an excellent group of necessary practitioners including general and orthopedic surgery, ob/gyn, pediatrics, cardiology, urology, neurology, pulmonary medicine, sleep center, radiology, pain clinic. The hospital is also served by visiting ENT and nephrology. Additionally, there is an outpatient dialysis center. Newport, Vermont is on the Canadian border and is the northern anchor of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. This is the most unspoiled portion of the most beautiful state in the eastern US. Mountains, lakes, rivers, forests are dotted with lovely small towns. Outdoor recreation abounds, including hiking, cycling, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and golf. Newport sits on the southern edge of Lake Memphremagog, a 24-mile international lake that stretches up into Canada. Jay Peak is 15 minutes away, providing unrivaled downhill skiing, as well as an indoor water park and a championship golf course.
