JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Pulmonologist
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Astoria, OR
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: April 15, 2026 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 8:00a – 6:00p (4x10s)
COVERAGE DATES
• Start Date: April 15, 2026
• End Date: Ongoing
• Long-term, full-time coverage requested
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 15–20 patients per day
• Admissions: Limited inpatient consults only
• Rounding: Included for inpatient consults
• Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate
• Case Mix: Pulmonology and sleep medicine
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: Critical Access Hospital
• Trauma Level: Adult Level IV
• Office Equipment Available: Standard pulmonary and sleep clinic equipment
• Specialty Backup Available: APP support for sleep medicine patients
• Support Staff Available: APP and clinic staff
• Reason for Coverage: Long-term staffing need
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Pulmonary evaluations and management
• Sleep medicine consultations
• Oversight of accredited pulmonary rehabilitation program
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Oregon medical license
• Board: Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonology
• DEA: As required for outpatient pulmonology practice
• Certifications: As required for pulmonary and sleep clinic privileges
• Experience: Pulmonology with sleep medicine exposure
• Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently in a largely ambulatory setting
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide outpatient pulmonology and sleep medicine care
• See clinic patients in a solo practice model with APP support
• Provide limited inpatient pulmonary consults as needed
• Participate in pulmonary rehabilitation program oversight
• Collaborate with clinic and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care
