Are you a dedicated Critical Care Pulmonology specialist seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity? We are currently recruiting a highly skilled Critical Care Pulmonology Physician to provide expert care in our state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team supporting critically ill adult patients, delivering compassionate and cutting-edge care on a 12-hour shift schedule. This role offers a unique chance to work in a dynamic environment with diverse patient needs, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive critical care and pulmonology services to adult patients aged 18-100.
- Support a multidisciplinary team including registered nurses, residents, and respiratory therapists.
- Manage an average ICU census of 1-6 patients daily within a 12-bed ICU.
- Perform specialized procedures, including bronchoscopies, utilizing advanced equipment.
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic EMR system.
- Participate in rounding and care coordination to optimize patient recovery.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Critical Care Pulmonology (BCCP or equivalent).
- Valid VA State license; DEA license for prescribing.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR or rapid adaptability.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced ICU setting.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in ICU settings with pulmonary management.
- Familiarity with ION equipment and advanced pulmonology procedures.
- Experience working with diverse adult patient populations, including complex cases.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care and pulmonary practice experience.
- Recent relevant ICU experience highly preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 7 days a week.
- Commitment to vaccination policies including flu, MMR, varicella (2 doses or positive titers), and TB screening.
- Credentialing and privileging process completion within 60 days.
- No licensing beyond VA required; acceptance of IMLC licensure.
- Travel expenses such as airfare, lodging, and rental vehicles are billable.
- Hourly pay rate of $312.00.
