Permanent Pulmonary Critical Care Physician – Davenport, IA
Hospital-Employed | Full-Time | Due to Retirement
Position Overview:
A leading 500-bed hospital in Davenport, Iowa is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to join an established team of four full-time providers. This full-scope, hospital-employed position offers an exciting opportunity to practice across ICU, inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings—replacing a retiring physician in a well-supported environment.
Practice Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1:4 call (every 4th night & weekend)
ICU: Medical, surgical, trauma – 20-bed ICU (Level III Trauma Center)
EMR: Cerner
Team Support: Advanced Practice Providers, NPs, & dedicated clinical staff
Teaching: Required – oversee APPs
Patient Volumes:
-
ICU: Up to 20 patients/day (with NP support)

Inpatient (non-ICU): Up to 10/day

Admissions: Avg. 5/day

Total hospital beds: 500
Required Procedures & Clinical Focus:
Ventilation: ETT, trach, BiPAP/CPAP
Lines: Central, arterial, PA catheter, IABP
Procedures:
-
Chest tube insertion
-
Bronchoscopy & BAL
-
EBUS
-
Thoracentesis & paracentesis
-
PFTs, cardiopulmonary & bronchoprovocation testing
Key Conditions Managed:
Asthma, COPD, ILD, pneumonia, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary vascular disease, volume/BP issues
Candidate Requirements:
Board Certified/Eligible in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: Competitive, discussed during interview
Relocation: Up to $10,000
