Pediatric Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician

The CHOC Specialists is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist with additional training and Board certification/eligibility in Sleep Medicine. You will join our well-established and growing team of eight pediatric pulmonologists (3 of whom are board certified in sleep medicine) and five nurse practitioners. Responsibilities include providing quality care to pediatric ­­­­­pulmonary and sleep patients from birth to young adulthood. Our service is primarily outpatient with equally shared rotating inpatient call. Opportunities in quality improvement, community outreach, resident education and administrative activities are available and encouraged. We are the primary teaching location for the University of California, Irvine.

The practice offers a full range of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine including:

  • Two AASM accredited Pediatric Sleep Centers on two campuses with a total of 13 outpatient beds and the ability to do up to 4 inpatient studies per night.
  • Multiple Investigator Initiated Clinical Research Studies ongoing within the Sleep Program led by the sleep physicians and a PhD Sleep Researcher with a joint appointment within the division and UCI School of Medicine.
  • An invasive and noninvasive home ventilator program.
  • An accredited Cystic Fibrosis Pediatric Care Center.
    • A Cystic Fibrosis Therapeutics Development Center.
  • A state-of-the-art Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory.
  • A state-of-the-art Outpatient Bronchoscopy Suite staffed with Pediatric Anesthesia.
  • Fully integrated EMR system.
  • Consults in oncology, cardiovascular, and neonatal ICUs. There is an active ECMO, Cardiac Surgery, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Spinal Surgery Programs.
  • Multi-disciplinary Pulmonary Clinics including cystic fibrosis; primary ciliary dyskinesia; severe asthma; aerodigestive with ENT and gastroenterology; interstitial lung disease with rheumatology; neuromuscular with neurology; sleep with behavioral psychology and neurology; sleep surgery with ENT (Inspire Program); Prader-Willi with behavioral pediatrics and endocrinology and red cell clinic with hematology.

Successful candidate will be fellowship trained and board certified/board eligible in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine and be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license.
