NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, located in the heart of Brooklyn, accommodates more than 518,076 outpatient visits, more than 141,328 emergency room visits, and with 627 beds, more than 25,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery. We are currently searching for a Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician to join our team in the Department of Medicine.
Responsibilities:
Under general direction, with latitude for independent judgment and discretion, performs the most difficult and highly specialized professional medical work of managing patients admitted to the Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Intensive Care Unit Service.
The Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Physician performs critical care consults and procedures, treats ambulatory care patients, and reads pulmonary lab tests.
- Examines patients, orders, performs or supervises appropriate therapeutic treatments
- Consults with other members of the professional staff, and may give guidance, advise, or professional medical opinion to less experienced members of the professional medical staff, the house staff and other members of the health care team
- May provide instruction for medical students in specialty or subspecialty areas
- For other designated specialties and/or subspecialties, performs the difficult, and highly specialized professional work related to the field
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Current NYS license (or the ability to obtain one)
- Completion of an approved fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care
- Board eligible or Board certified
