Locums – Ocean City, Maryland, Area Pulmonary/Critical Care Job

  • Preference is for a board certified or truly board eligible pulmonary/critical care physician
  • Client may be willing to consider internal medicine critical care physicians, as well
  • Reason for need: PRN weekend needs
  • Work at a community hospital
  • Dates of coverage needed: November 20-23
  • Future dates will become available
  • You’d work 7a-6p and then be on call from 6p-7a
  • Average patient census is around 10
  • 6 ICU beds, 2 PCU peds
  • You’d also handle pulm consults on the floor
  • Hospitalists handle ICU/PCU admissions overnight unless it becomes quite busy – you then may be called in (quite rare)
  • Night call is for emergent procedures on ICU patients, ICU admissions, or if the eICU provider feels the specialist is needed
  • eICU program does a great job of monitoring patients overnight
  • If the ICU is empty, it is expected that the provider is available to assist the hospitalists, if needed
  • EMR: Allscripts
