Job description Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to join a well-established practice due to a planned retirement. The position involves inpatient, outpatient, ICU, shared call, and procedure coverage within a Level III Trauma setting. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a comprehensive benefits package and relocation assistance.

Job Responsibilities

Provide pulmonary and critical care services in inpatient, outpatient, and ICU settings.
Manage and perform advanced procedures including bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and ventilation management.
Collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants in patient management and supervision.
Participate in a 1:4 call rotation covering nights and weekends.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as central line, arterial line, PA catheter, IABP, and chest tube insertion.
Manage complex pulmonary and critical care conditions including COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary vascular disease.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine (must have plans to test within 5 years).
Completion of fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine prior to start (new graduates accepted).
Active or eligible Iowa medical license.
ACLS certification required.
Clean malpractice record preferred.
U.S. Board Certification required (no visa candidates accepted).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday schedule with 1:4 call (every 4th night and weekend).
Average ICU census: up to 20 patients with NP support.
Average inpatient census: up to 10 patients per day.

Skills

Proficiency in advanced airway and ventilation management.
Expertise in pulmonary diagnostics and therapeutic procedures.
Strong critical care and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
EMR proficiency (Cerner preferred).
