Job description
- A Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician is needed to provide locum coverage in an inpatient ICU setting.
- The role involves patient rounding, admissions, call coverage, and critical care procedures.
- Providers should be proficient in pulmonary and ICU procedures, with preference given to those experienced in EBUS and ION.
Job Responsibilities
โข Manage an average of 18 ICU patients and 10 non-ICU inpatients daily, with NP support
โข Perform procedures including central and arterial line insertions, chest tube insertion, bronchoscopy (with BAL), thoracentesis, paracentesis, and EBUS/ION
โข Provide ventilation management (invasive and non-invasive) and treatment for conditions such as COPD, interstitial lung disease, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, and vascular disease
โข Participate in weekday shifts, nightly call, and 24-hour weekend call rotation (1:4)
โข Document patient care using Cerner EMR
Qualifications
โข Active IA medical license or IMLC LOQ at time of name clear โ Required
โข Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care โ Required (EBUS/ION proficiency preferred)
โข ACLS โ Required
โข Critical Care procedural proficiency โ Required
โข Clean background โ Required
โข Availability for at least 1 full week per month โ Required
Working Hours
โข 3โ4 nightly calls per week: 5:00 pm โ 7:00 am
โข Weekend 24-hour call: Friday 7:00 am โ Monday 7:00 am
Skills
โข Strong ICU and inpatient management experience
โข Familiarity with Cerner EMR
โข Ability to manage complex pulmonary conditions (asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, pneumonia, pulmonary nodules, vascular disease)
โข Effective collaboration within a critical care team
