Job description
We are seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position in San Francisco, California. This is an inpatient adolescent psychiatry opportunity providing coverage on a recurring weekend and weekday schedule. Please see below for more information.
Job Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Administer and manage psychiatric medications for children and adolescents, applying psychopharmacology and various psychotherapeutic modalities
Manage challenging behaviors using therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques
Lead the multidisciplinary team, overseeing patient care and providing guidance and supervision
Place admission orders during night call for patients accepted and arriving during the coverage period
Manage a daily census of approximately 6-12 adolescent patients
Qualifications
California state medical license required (no IMLC)
BLS required
CA DEA with Schedule 2/2n required
Working Hours
Monday/Tuesday: 8a-5p on site, followed by night call until 8a
Weekends: approximately 6 hours of rounding beginning at 8a, then on call until 8a the following day
Call: night call Monday/Tuesday and 24-hour coverage plus rounding on weekends
