Job description
We are seeking a Psychiatry physician for an emergency psychiatry locum tenens position in Dallas, TX. This role provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and consultation services in a high-volume emergency department setting at a Level I trauma center. Please see below for more information.
Trauma Level I
EMR: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients in psychiatric emergency units (maximum 10 patients per 12-hour shift)
Provide psychiatric consultations to the medical emergency department (average 5-6 consults per 12-hour shift)
Assess and manage acute psychiatric crises and determine need for involuntary commitment
Complete legal paperwork for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization (OPC applications)
Perform face-to-face psychiatric exam for APP supervision tasks (restraint orders, OPC application signatures)
Admit patients to psychiatric observation as clinically indicated
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team across psychiatric and medical services
Qualifications
State Medical License
DEA
Working Hours
Any 2 days per week
No call - provider onsite
