Psychiatrist Pod Lead – Remote (W2)
Compensation
$270,000–$290,000 annually (flexible up to $300,000 based on experience)
Compensation prorated for part-time schedules
Schedule
• Full-time preferred (40 hours/week)
• Open to part-time candidates (minimum 24 hours/week)
• Approximately 30 hours/week of direct patient care; remaining time dedicated to leadership and supervision
• Fully remote
• Light after-hours phone call: up to 1 week, up to 3 times per year (0–2 calls/day on average)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, board-certified Psychiatrist to serve as a Psychiatrist Pod Lead in a fully remote, clinical leadership role. This position blends direct psychiatric care with supervision and mentorship of psychiatric nurse practitioners within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model.
You will manage a panel of adult and older adult patients with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and dementia, while also providing clinical oversight, guidance, and support to a pod of psychiatric NPs. This role partners closely with care managers, primary care providers, and clinical leadership to deliver integrated, high-quality, virtual behavioral health care.
Qualifications
• MD or DO with Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry (required)
• Active medical license in Florida, Texas, Illinois, Arizona and/or Indiana
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience supervising psychiatric nurse practitioners
• Experience treating adults and older adults with serious mental illness
• Leadership experience within multidisciplinary or collaborative care models
• Telehealth experience required
Preferred Qualifications
• Additional board certification in Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
• Experience working with seniors and patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
• Bilingual English/Spanish
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight to a pod of psychiatric nurse practitioners
• Lead team huddles, case reviews, and peer supervision sessions
• Offer mentorship, feedback, and professional development support
• Collaborate with care managers, primary care providers, and other stakeholders
• Contribute to clinical program development and scalable care processes
Direct Patient Care
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up visits
• Manage a panel of patients with SMI, SUD, and dementia
• Adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and clinical progress
• Utilize outcome measurement tools to track effectiveness of care
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in clinician recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding
• Support clinical quality initiatives and adherence to best practices
• Participate in a light, rotating on-call schedule
Caseload & Structure
• Supervision of up to 10 psychiatric nurse practitioners
• Patient panel of approximately 150–200 follow-up patients
• Intake and follow-up days scheduled separately
• One full day per week dedicated to supervision (no patient visits)
