Description
We are seeking a Locum Adult Psychiatrist for a full-time inpatient psychiatry assignment in Reading, Pennsylvania. This role offers a stable weekday schedule, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to provide high-quality care to adult patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
Job Responsibilities
Provide daily follow-ups and discharge planning
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
Manage psychopharmacologic treatments and monitor patient response
Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation
Collaborate with nursing, social work, psychology, and medical teams
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Adhere to all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Board Eligible (Board Certified preferred)
Active Pennsylvania license or ability to obtain
BLS certification required
Experience in inpatient adult psychiatry preferred
No Suboxone certification required
Working Hours
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Full-time coverage
No call, no weekends
Assignment Length: 6 months (ASAP start)

Expertise in psychopharmacologic management
Ability to manage acute psychiatric crises
Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
Proficiency with electronic medical records (WellSky EMR)
