Seeking Psychiatrists to work from home!
At Author Health, we are a new company offering technology-enabled health care services for seniors with complex mental health conditions. We seek a psychiatrist to provide clinical care and supervise a multidisciplinary team providing virtual-first care to seniors with serious mental illness (SMI).
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team of nurse practitioners, social workers, community health workers and health navigators providing care to seniors with SMI
- Perform virtual-first direct patient care, primarily for patients requiring diagnostic clarification or with complexity requiring a psychiatrist’s expertise, providing treatment recommendations, treatment planning, and follow-up planning
- Lead team huddles to ensure the care team is working collaboratively toward improving the lives of patients
- Use outcome measurement tools during the course of treatment to help patients and the treatment team track progress
- Act as the collaborative supervising physician for psychiatric NPs
- Provide clinical support to BH team who will be providing short-term psychotherapy, supporting caregivers, coordinating transitions of care, and connecting patients to community-based organizations and agencies
- Contribute to the development and implementation of BH clinical programming within the market, with an eye toward refining processes that allow the company to scale
- Collaborate with PCPs, as well as patients’ other providers, to coordinate treatment and help address co-occurring physical health conditions
- Contribute to constructing the psychiatrist’s role within the company, including contributing to company culture and serving as an ambassador for the company’s mission.

Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Provide therapy and counseling to individuals, couples, families, or groups
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients during treatment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric research and treatment methods
Qualifications
- Completion of a psychiatry residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry
- Valid medical license to practice psychiatry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care

-Excitement about providing care to patients with SMI in a new care paradigm
-Passion about improving the lives of patients and their caregivers, and improving care delivery
-Board-certified psychiatrist licensed to practice in Florida, or able to obtain a Florida license
-Treating patients with serious mental illness (preferred: experience treating seniors)
-Supervising a multidisciplinary team of providers
-Comfort managing patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs
-Working in a collaborative care model is a plus
