Position Overview:

• 🧑‍⚕️ Role: Psychiatry Physician
• 📍 Location: Allegheny County Jail, Pittsburgh, PA
• 🗓️ Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • One Sunday rotation every 6 weeks (<8 hours)
• ⏱️ Duration: June 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026
• 🏥 Setting: Inpatient unit (male & female patients)
• 📅 Credentialing: 60 days

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults with acute mental health symptoms
• Round on an average of 30 patients in the unit (not all seen daily)
• Participate in Sunday rounding on inpatient male/female patients
• Collaborate with mental health staff and correctional medical teams 🤝
• Document assessments and treatment plans accurately and efficiently

Requirements & Certifications:

• Active Pennsylvania medical license ✅
• Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience in acute or inpatient psychiatry highly preferred
