The Opportunity

Role: Adult and/or Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (Locum Tenens)

Location: San Jose, CA (Local "drive-in" candidates within 30 miles preferred)

Setting: Outpatient Clinic (Developmental Disabilities & Mental Health focus)

Schedule: 12–16 hours per week (Flexible design: e.g., two 8-hour shifts or three 4-hour shifts).

Hybrid Workflow: Must be in-person at least 1 day/week; remaining hours can be via Telehealth (Zoom).
Clinical Responsibilities
You will provide psychiatric assessments and medication management for a patient population with developmental disabilities and intersecting mental health disorders.

Patient Volume: 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour day (Mix of new evaluations and routine follow-ups).

Age Groups: Open to providers seeing ages 5+ OR strictly Child/Adolescent (5–17).

Common Diagnoses: Anxiety, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Depression, DMDD, and Schizoaffective Disorder.

Support: Collaborative environment with a Medical Director, nurses, and case managers.

Documentation: EMR training provided (Avatar NX); following County Psychiatric Medical Guidelines.
Compensation & Requirements

Rate: $300+/hour (Client is open to considering higher rates for highly qualified candidates; please submit your best rate).

Perm Potential: Permanent placement fee/conversion structure is in place for interested candidates.

Credentialing: Approximately 30–60 days.
Candidate Requirements

Licensure: Active California State Medical License.

Board Status: BC or BE in Psychiatry (Adult and/or Child & Adolescent). BC preferred but not a "deal breaker."

Certification: Must be eligible for Medi-Cal/Medicare certification and authorized for controlled substances.

Health Policy: Vaccination required (standard medical/religious exemptions apply).

Local Focus: Candidates must reside within a 30-mile radius of the San Jose/95128 area (no fly-ins).
