Must be local / drive-in provider within 30 miles of ZIP code 95128

Fly-in candidates will not be considered
Schedule
-
12–16 hours per week (maximum 16 hours currently)

Potential for increased hours around Spring 2026

Flexible scheduling within business hours:
-
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
-
Schedule structure is provider-designed (e.g., full days, partial days, multiple short days)
-
Schedule must remain consistent week to week
-

In-person required at least 1 day per week

Remaining hours may be completed via telehealth
Patient Population
-
Providers may see:
-
Patients ages 5+ (all ages)
OR -
Child & Adolescent only (ages 5–17)

Typical daily volume (7.5-hour day): 6–10 patients, depending on visit type

Common diagnoses include:
-
Anxiety disorders
-
Depression
-
Intermittent explosive disorder
-
Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder
-
OCD
-
Schizoaffective disorder
-
Bipolar disorder
-
-
Small percentage of cases involve JV-220 documentation
Clinical Responsibilities
-
Perform psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and mental status examinations
-
Diagnose according to DSM criteria
-
Provide medication management, including prescribing controlled substances
-
Review and interpret relevant diagnostic data and consultations
-
Develop and participate in individualized treatment planning
-
Provide outpatient psychiatric services (in-person and telehealth)
-
Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and reports
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams
-
Participate in quality and performance improvement activities as needed
-
Prepare legal or court-related documentation when required
Systems & Documentation

EMR: Avatar NX

Providers must comply with applicable county and payer guidelines
-
Time entry required via Vemsta platform
Credentialing
-
Credentialing timeline: 30–40 days
Candidate Requirements
-
Active California medical license
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
-
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (Adult and/or Child Psychiatry)
-
Board certification preferred but not a strict deal-breaker
-

Eligible for Medi-Cal / Medicare participation
-
Flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemption accepted)

COVID vaccination required (medical or religious exemption accepted)
