Overview:
A behavioral health facility in Reading, PA is seeking a locum Adult Psychiatrist for full-time inpatient coverage. This is a long-term assignment with a collaborative, well-supported care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult inpatient admissions

• Provide daily follow-ups and discharge planning

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices

• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans, including medication management

• Monitor medication effectiveness and patient response

• Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation as needed

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, psychology, and primary care

• Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

• Comply with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards

Patient Details:

• Adult patients (18+)

• Patient load: 16–20

• Mix of new and existing patients

Support & Environment:

• Full treatment team and nursing support

• Working alongside approximately 12 other providers

• No supervision of mid-level providers

Requirements:

• Board Eligible (Psychiatry)

• BLS certification

• Experience with inpatient psychiatry preferred
