Job description
Location: California (Onsite 1 day/week required)
Schedule: 12–16 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 8:30a–5p (flexible)
Start Date: Targeting Jan 1 (flexible)
Setting: Outpatient clinical office serving developmentally disabled patients
Type: Ongoing assignment – local/drive-in candidates preferred
Core Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and MSEs following DSM criteria

Provide diagnoses, medication management, and treatment planning

Collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing staff, and clinical team

Document all assessments and treatments in the EHR (per county guidelines)

Participate in outpatient and/or telehealth visits
-
Provide consultation and peer review for providers

Contribute to quality improvement and performance initiatives
-
Educate families/caregivers on diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
-
Prepare reports and legal documentation as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong proficiency in adult and/or child psychiatry
-
Experience with medication management & prescribing controlled substances

Understanding of Medi-Cal, Medicare, and County Mental Health billing guidelines

Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
-
Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary care model

Commitment to community-based care and cultural competence
Candidate Requirements

Active California medical license
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC required within 5 years of residency)

Flu and COVID vaccination (or approved exemption)
-
Must log hours in Vemsta platform

Must be onsite at least 1 day/week
Environment
Clinical office setting within a collaborative interdisciplinary team; includes patient-facing visits, documentation, and administrative tasks.
