- Other Details: Seeking an Adult and/or Child Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing mental health care for developmentally disabled patients with co-occurring mental health disorders, including diagnosing per DSM criteria, completing MSEs, prescribing medication (including controlled substances), coordinating treatment plans, and delivering care via telehealth or onsite. The role includes 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour day, primarily managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, intermittent explosive disorder, disruptive mood disorder, OCD, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder, with occasional JV-220 cases. The psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain compliance with Medi-Cal/Medicare standards, complete clinical documentation in the EHR, participate in quality initiatives, provide family/caregiver guidance, and prepare legal or clinical reports when needed. Requirements include an active CA license, board certification or eligibility (preferred but not required, certification to be obtained within 5 years of residency), authorization to prescribe controlled substances, flu/COVID vaccination. This is a 12–16 hr/week outpatient role with a consistent weekly schedule that can be customized within Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible shift configurations, including 8-hour days or shorter blocks, depending on provider preference and clinic needs.

Job Responsibilities
* Provide medication management, including prescribing controlled substances
* Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
* Deliver outpatient care via telehealth and/or onsite visits
* Manage a caseload of 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour shift
* Treat conditions including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD, bipolar, schizoaffective disorder, and occasional JV-220 cases
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams
* Maintain compliance with Medi-Cal/Medicare documentation standards using EHR
* Provide guidance to families and caregivers
* Prepare clinical, legal, or court-related documentation when necessary
* Participate in quality improvement and clinical coordination activities
Qualifications
* Active California medical license
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (preferred; certification within 5 years of residency)
* Authorized to prescribe controlled substances
* Flu and COVID vaccination or approved exemption
* Experience treating patients with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health disorders preferred
Working Hours
