Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Kansas City, MO

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift: Day Shift | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a mission-driven, non-profit community mental health organization that has been transforming lives for over 50 years. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing care for children, adolescents, and their families in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a dedicated daily caseload (approx. 16 clients) through both in-person and telehealth visits.

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, typically including:

    • Two 1-hour assessments

    • Six 30-minute appointments

    • Eight 15-minute follow-ups

  • Prescribe and monitor medications, including medication-assisted treatments.

  • Help clients achieve improved symptom management, stronger coping skills, and enhanced daily functioning.

  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, whole-person care.

  • Document all clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of a psychiatric residency.

  • Active Missouri medical license (or eligibility to obtain).

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred; Board-Eligible candidates will be considered.

  • Willingness to provide collaborative practice oversight for APRNs.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a recovery-focused, patient-centered approach.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

  • Five (5)+ years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents.

  • Background in treating severe and persistent mental illness in pediatric populations.
