Job Overview – Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (Part-Time):
Compensation: $200 – $250/hour (Dependent on experience)
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Part-time (10 hours per week)
Our client is hiring a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (Part-Time) in Queens, NY, to provide trauma-informed psychiatric care for children in foster care. You will conduct evaluations, manage psychotropic medications, and collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and medical directors. This hybrid role offers in-person and telehealth sessions with flexibility for urgent consultations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in EMR systems, with Advanced MD experience preferred.

Responsibilities as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (Part-Time):
- Psychiatric Care: Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide ongoing treatment for children in foster care in accordance with AACAP, AAP, and ACS standards.
- Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications while ensuring compliance with ACS consent and prescribing protocols.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and care managers to deliver integrated and holistic mental health care.
- Education & Support: Counsel children, foster parents, and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, and medication side effects.
- Documentation & Accessibility: Maintain accurate EMR records, balancing in-person and telehealth visits with availability for consultations and urgent needs.
- Education: Medical degree with completion of a residency and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry required.
- Licensure & Certification: Active New York State medical license and Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric experience required, preferably within child welfare, foster care, or underserved populations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems, with Advanced MD experience preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of foster care systems, ACS requirements, and child/adolescent psychiatric standards of care.
- Skills & Attributes: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach.
