Description
Valley Star Community Services’ Family Resource Center (FRC) is seeking a mission-driven Psychiatrist for a Locum Tenens assignment in Victorville, CA—with the opportunity to renew every 3 months. This is more than a contract; it’s a chance to be part of a movement that uplifts underserved communities through compassionate, culturally responsive care.
Our center offers free services to reduce unmet needs in the San Bernardino region, including:
- Brief counseling, wellness groups, and parent support
- Individual and group therapy for youth ages 16–25
- Medication management and crisis intervention
- Outreach through our Promotores program (Latino community)
- Specialized services via PRAAC (African-American children ages 5–11)

- Weekly Pay
- Monthly: $34,700 to $36,400
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and outreach teams
Support culturally sensitive care for diverse populations
Participate in crisis response and community engagement
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency standards
Qualifications
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry
Preferred: Subspecialty in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Experience in community mental health or underserved populations
Bilingual (Spanish) or cultural competency with African-American youth is a plus
Working Hours
40 hours/week Flexible
On-site in Victorville, CA with potential for hybrid telepsychiatry

Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making

Familiarity with trauma-informed care and EHR systems
