MultiCare Health System is seeking a full time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for their growing child and adolescent psychiatric inpatient service located at Tacoma General Hospital. This opportunity is a 1.0 FTE, inpatient, and in-person role, although we are open to hybrid and remote options. The Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit has 25 beds and houses voluntary and involuntary patients ranging in age from 13 to 18.

Expectations for duties on the unit:

1. Will be covering a maximum of 7-8 patients which will include 1-2 discharges, 1-2 new admits a day.
2. All admissions can be voluntary, or Family initiated or Detained patients
3. The legal status is taken care of when patient is initially admitted by intake coordinators and paperwork is reviewed by intake nurse.
4. New Admits will also have a pediatrician to complete the physical examination on the day of admit so if there is any question for any ongoing medical problems, they are available to consult.
5. Discharge planning and setting up all done by SW team
6. All documentation will be expected to be completed within the 24 hours from seeing patient.
7. Team meetings to be attended daily in the morning with the team to review and present all cases.
8. Templates for all intakes, communication notes, progress notes and discharge summaries are in place and will be available to all clinician’s.

FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: M-F 8-5

Starting Salary Range: $277,936.00-$308,818.00

Additional Call Pay: $2,500 per weekend
