Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ is hiring Medical Director/ Adult Psychiatrist to become a member of the Inpatient Treatment team - 16 bed Voluntary/Involuntary Adult Psych Unit.

1. Full Time position with excellent benefits.

2. May involved supervision/oversight of affiliated medical staff (psychiatric APRNs).

3. Participation in on-call coverage rotation. Call would be 1 weekend/month

4. Monday to Friday schedule.

5. Patient census - 12-15.

6. NP/PA support will be provided.

Education:

M.D. or D.O. with completed residency. Qualifications/Requirements: Active license to practice medicine in NJ. DEA license, NJ CDS registration. Board-certified in general psychiatry, or Board-eligible & must achieve Board certification within 5 years of completion of medical training & within 2 years of hire. Experience & interest in clinical & administrative leadership role a plus. Familiarity with NJ regulations & processes related to screening law & involuntary STCF patients a plus.
