- A hospital in Michigan is seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for locum coverage.
- The role includes weekday inpatient coverage and call.
- Sporadic coverage is needed through 2025, with full-time need starting January 2026.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners as required
Participate in weekday call (5p–8a) and weekend coverage (1:4 rotation starting in 2026)
Manage a range of psychiatric disorders including anxiety, psychotic, affective, developmental, and personality disorders
Document care in Epic EMR and coordinate with referral sources from local EDs
Qualifications
Active Michigan medical license or IMLC/LOQ in hand – Required
BLS certification – Required
Experience in involuntary commitments, group therapy, pharmacotherapy, and seclusion/restraint protocols preferred
Working Hours
Weekday call: 5p–8a (unrestricted call if able)
Sporadic coverage through 2025; full-time need starts January 2026
Skills
Supervision of psychiatric NPs
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and therapy modalities
Familiarity with Epic EMR
Crisis intervention and safety protocol adherence
