JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Psychiatrist – Inpatient Psych
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Saranac Lake, NY
• Service Setting: Inpatient – Senior Behavioral Health Unit
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: September 15, 2025 – Ongoing
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Daily on-site, 8a – 5p (1hr unpaid lunch; flexible)
• On-Call Shift Schedule: Nightly, 5p – 8a
COVERAGE DATES
• Sep 15-22, 2025
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Geriatric (Ages 55+)
• Patient Volume/Census: Average 8–12 patients daily
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included
• Phone Consults: Yes (Med/Surg or ED; infrequent)
• Case Mix: 100% Senior Behavioral Health Unit
FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 12
• EMR System: Meditech
• Office Equipment Available: Dictation services available
• Specialty Backup Available: Physicians available for H&P
• Support Staff Available: Social workers and nurses
• Reason for Coverage: Short-term coverage need

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active NY license required
• Board: Board Eligible (within 5 years)
• DEA: Active DEA Certification
• Experience: Experience in geriatric psychiatry preferred
• Other Qualifications: Willing to train on Meditech; flexible and personable; team player
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide psychiatric care to geriatric inpatients
• Complete daily rounds and patient assessments
• Be available for overnight in-house call
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team
• Participate in documentation and dictation as required
