Job Responsibilities

Perform psychiatric evaluations, as needed, for purposes of diagnosis and treatment planning. Developing treatment plans according to the needs of the patient and to the extent of their emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder. Treating patients using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication, and adjusting treatment when necessary. Writing and maintaining patient and clinical records. Collaborating with internal and outside members of the patients care team when necessary.

Qualifications

Completion of MD or DO degree
Completion of Residency in Psychiatry
Board Eligible or Certified

Skills

Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry
Doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree (or equivalent)
One year of postgraduate training in an accredited hospital residency program
License for the practice of psychiatry
Registration for prescribing controlled substances
Extensive knowledge of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology
Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills
