Job Description

Last Update: 6/30/20

The Division of Psychiatry is recruiting a full-time Vice Chair of Psychiatry based less than 15 miles from Boston, Massachusetts. We are a 317-bed adult tertiary care center and a teaching hospital. We one of the largest healthcare providers for behavioral health services in the State of Massachusetts. We have a strong commitment to provide personal, compassionate, state of the art integrated behavioral healthcare that makes a difference in the lives of our patients and the communities we serve.

The experienced MD/DO candidate should be eligible for an unrestricted Massachusetts State Medical License, and be Board Certified in Psychiatry. This individual will obtain academic appointment. This is a largely clinical outpatient or consultation opportunity. The candidate may either have prior experience managing clinical programs or be willing to obtain leadership education in order to successfully assist in managing the division of psychiatry. The Division oversees clinical operations at hospital-based outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations services, psychiatric emergency services and specialty department partnerships across two medical campuses. The Division is actively engaged in academic research in partnership with other departments. The Division is currently a training site for students from across multiple professions including physicians, nurses and social workers.

The Vice Chair of Psychiatry will work closely with the Chair of Psychiatry, administrators and other staff to ensure clinical competencies and fiscal parameters of the department are being met. The Vice Chair will work with the Chair to continue ongoing quality improvement processes, assist in practice transformation efforts, and professional development of department members. The Vice Chair will also work with other clinical departments to ensure proper psychiatric care is being maintained for our patients in other clinical departments.
